Yaesu FT 50 RD and DCS

Post by valterg »

Hello:
I am a military doctor and I use in my missions a Yaesu FT50RD radio. I need to program the radio in a way that it allows the frequency of transmission with a DCS and the frequency of reception with another DCS, that is, both TX and RX must have different DCS.
Is there a way to do that in this radio?

Thank you very much

Possibly. You would need to run the vfo link, set the two vfos' for the respective frequency and dpl, and you should be all set. I can't remember if I've tried it. I'll check on mine tonight. I don't believe you can store this config, but I'll check that too.

Good luck, Will

Dear Will:

Thank you very much for your reply.
I'm not an radio expert (I learned most of radio functions reading the manual), so any detailed help is greatly welcome.

Again, thank you very much for your kindly attention

With the old DCS

Post by Raymond156 »

When we had old radios and
limited dcs then we did things different.
We set two channels side by side.
Channel 1 with the first dcs channel two with second dcs.
Call on one channel and recieve on the second.
We do that with the opp police .Listen to the tower
on one channel and hear the car on the second channel.

Hello:

Thanks for your replay.
I think that it isn't possible in YAESU FD50. As I know, this radio alows to select only one DCS, both for RX and TX.

I'm thinking to change the radio to a newer one. I will appreciate sugestions from experts.

Thanks
