FT-7100 need help

I have an FT-7100 that is impossible to program i would like to clear it factory default and start over. can any one tell me how? thanks mark

1) Turn the radio off
2) Press and HOLD the (V/M), (MHz) and (REV) keys while turning the radio on.

This resets the CPU, all memories and menu settings to factory defaults.

By the way, I have heard that late model 7100s did not have the problems that plagued the earlier units. Can anyone confirm if this is true? If so, what is the serial number series of the "good" ones?
