VX-4204 Tone and DCS decode problem

Post by egrams »

I can't get my vx-4204 to operate with tone squelch. I have tone and dcs programmed in various channels for decode, but the radio is acting like it has open squelch. It transmits the tones fine, just nothing for receive. Is this something wrong with my memory file or something wrong with the radio?

Thanks

try grounding the microphone to the chassis.

It could be a feature motorola used to call HUB switch or hang up box. If enabled the receive pl will be disabled when the mic is removed feom the hanger.

The premise was that the pl would be on until you were ready to transmit, and you could then monitor the channel for co-users before you transmit.

You can also [Enable] the [Off Hook Signalling] in the programming software.
It's under [Commom] --> {Micellaneous] --> [Off Hook Signalling]
