Bendix/King and VHF question

Seems like a bit of a silly statement, but the whole radio spectrum, use plan, and frequency allocations is not necessarly an easy thing to understand straight out of the box.

Once you have somewhat of a working knowledge on how the various sections of the spectrum "work" then you'll be able to make an educated decision.

The ham radio spectrum really would be your best bet for your recreational use.
Your license and equipment would be valid all across the united states and canada. and the equipment that would be available for use is quite broad. (high power portable and mobile radio's)
Down side, the individuals using the radio's need to be licensed, and you will need to broadcast your call sign frequently....
