SM-2450 Programming

Post by k5iq »

Hey! What I know about the Maxon line of gear could fill a matchbook!

Would someone be kind enough to tell me what hardware and software are needed to program an SM-2450? I picked one up for a song and it works fine on its already programmed bidness freqs., but I'd like to set it up on my GMRS repeater freq.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Recipes?

Tnx!
Bob

The software is SPA-300 (also called SMP-4004C in the manual) and the programming cable is SMP-2000.

This series is discontinued and but software, cables and manuals are still available from TCS Wireless at this link:

With the high cost of the cable, it may be better to take the radio to a service shop for programming if this is a one time thing.

The SPA-300 software covers several series of Maxon radios but each series uses its own special cable.
