5100 FPP questions and model questions. i have searched

im interested in learning more about the 5100 series

i have searched the site with minimal understanding of the model number decoding.
one post said the "BA" at the end of the model number indicates FPP emabled. but is it possible a radio has FPP but not BA?

i have also
read that 512X means 380-470 and 513X means 450-520 what does the position after those 3 digits mean?

also, if a radio says DSP FAILED will it still operate? and will it still display channel information after a certain ammount of time?

lastly, what do the last 3 digit positions in the model number mean? i see so many different examples of clusters, but no one saying position 1 or 2 or 3 means this or that.

When dealing with the 5100 series, the important info regarding options turned on is the 2 letter combo at the end. THere is not ONE defined answer I can give as to what combo has FPP since it is a huge number. The number that is after the 2 letter combo just refers to the series of the radio. No number is a series 1, a 2 is a series 2 (or SEM), a 3 is a series 3 (or UCM, the only version that supports DES-XL), a 4 is a series 4 (or X) and a 6 is a series 6 (or ES)

from yours or anyone's experience with a group of random 5100s, how many are FPP? for example if you have have been in possession of say 10 5100 portables, were 5 out of 10 FPP?
