Has any one ran across a issue of a 53SL ES just rebooting. Mine will do it at odd times. Some when the mic is taken off the hanger. In the middle of transmitting ( note transmission completes, but unable to hear reply). Then sometimes when just going down the road.
I have check all power connectors. I have been told that my Sheriff's will also reboot at times.

Re: 53SL ES Reboot
We now believe it has something to due with a static discharge. One unit now completely shuts down. After changing to a plastic mic hanger it does not have issues as much. But, still shuts down 2-3 times a day. Any Clues?????

Tell us a little about what the radio does most of the day. Is it in a (hot) car? Is it stationary in a (air conditioned) building?
Does it sit on a single conventional frequency? Is it scanning? Is it on a trunked talkgroup? Is it scanning trunked talkgroups?
Does it turn off and stay off? Or does it reset?
If you think it is static related, obviously check your grounding points.
What firmware is it on? Sounds like it may just need a firmware bump.
