RPV516A programming

Post by KF4SQB »

Does anyone have a schematic of the programming cable used for this radio? Where would I find the software?

I worked on a cable before I left RELM that used a UART that operated at a baud rate of 33Kbs. If it is the same one it will not be simple to duplicate. You might be able to purchase the programming cable and software from 10-4 Communications in Texas, but typically they sell those items to government agencies and RELM dealers only. Call RELM at 1-800-422-6281 for contact information on 10-4 Comm. Good luck finding a freebie.

OK, I've got good news for anyone else who is trying to program this series of radio. On a whim, we tried a Kenwood KPG-22 programming interface, and it worked.
