First off, I am not sure that the "XL2000" is even a model number. I have been told that it is found on several, compleately different, models. Do you maybe have the RH250, or RH256? What are the spec's? If it is 25 watt, 10 channel, it is maybe the 250, 16 channels, the 256. If it is one of those models, will it do anything else? Can you change channels? Will it key up? If both answers are no, then you probably have a bad keypad. One of only two weak spots I know of in these radios, the power switch being the other. When the keypad goes, it all locks up.
