Regency Micro-com BH45B help?

Post by KD5HOZ »

I have a Regency BH45B that I got as part of a trade. It has already been re-aligned to 2-meters and has some packet freq. in it (the fellow I got it from was using it as a packet rig). Does anyone have any service info on this old radio, especially pinouts for the mic plug so maybe I can put it back into service?

Thanks

I can not help you with a service manual but I can tell you that the MCBH45B's main board and power amp was the same as the MCH44B. Unless the microphone jack was rewired after leaving the factory, it was wired to the following:

Pin 1 = Open,or +13vdc, or RX audio - depending on the microphone ordered by the customer (standard microphone, Pre-amp base mic, or hand set microphone, respectively)
Pin 2 = ground
Pin 3 = PTT
Piin 4 = Microphone audio
Pin 5 = Hang up

Much appreciated. I got the "regular" desk mic along with the radio, so maybe I can take the bottom off of the mic and take a look at the mic cord and "reverse engineer" a cable. I believe I have the proper connector.

Thanks again
