Rrmv50 progamming issues

I'm having trouble getting the computer and program to give me a com port access, anyone have any information on this subject?
I know this is a fairly old post, but if you have not resolved this yet:
What programming cable are you using? Is it serial or USB? What operating system?
I can successfully program my Relm RMV25 with my generic serial cable with Windows XP. This radio is basically identical to the RMV50.
