Midland 70-1336 programming information needed

Post by jim202 »

In need of information on programming a VHF mobile model 70-13336.

Where does the programming cable connect to the radio?

Which software is used to program this radio?

Thanks,
Jim

On the right side near the front of the radio there is a rubber flap covering the programming port. It's a 10 pin connector similiar to the header on an old computer mobo where a com port would be connected (2 rows of 5 pins).

The actual Midland part number for the cable is 70-1308 (good luck finding one - I'd like to find one myself).

I believe the latest version of software for it is called XTRv3 (don't know the Midland p/n). The Yahoo Group "MidlandLMR" has a schematic available to build your own prog cable.

I have a schematic of the programmer posted on the board. Look for the topic "Midland Syn-Tech II/XTR Programming Cable" in the Midland forum. Last time I checked, the weblinking part of BBCode didn't seem to be working properly, so you may have to copy and paste the link to the image.
