Hello and nice to meet everyone.
As I have seen from reading their has been a few questions about the radios cary pawn had on ebay.
Well I now have 2 of them also.
I now have one installed and it is working but I put a 'ncg 3000 swr power meter' on it and it was only txing 10 watts.Radio were 100 watts radios. Is that something that is programable as I did not tell him I wanted 100 watts I just thought that is what they would be.
Also he programed 16 channels in it for me and I want it to scan never thought to ask when I sent him the channel list.
But will they scan like I think they should
Shows on the display
Zone 1
Fire N for channel "1"
Zone 1
Fire S for channel "2"
Zone 1
EMS N For channel "3"
Zone 1
EMS S For channel "4"
And others like above for each channel
I want it to scan/ monitor all channels and then be able to tx on any when I switch channels with the knob.
Hope this is not to much to ask on my first question But I am just trying to learn.
Thanks

Re: newbe questions
First off welcome to the forum.
What kind of radio did you purchase???
Also if the antenna is not tuned most newer radios will back the RF output down to keep from frying the amplifier

Re: newbe questions
The radios are GE/Ericsson M/A-Com Orion UHF 100 watt
Model: D2UHCX
Bandsplit: 440-470 Mhz
Update on the wattage as I got the meter working right they are txing at close to 100 watts.
But I would like them to scan.
I have been in contact with carypawn To see about reprogramming but they have not got back with me.
Do you know of other placed that might help with programming?
Thanks again.

Re: newbe questions
Generally, your microphone needs to be hung up in the mic clip and/or grounded for the scan function to work.
Working from memory, the ORION's SCAN LED will flash if it is trying to scan but the mic is not hung up properly.

Re: newbe questions
You were right.
The light was flashing.
I grounded the mic and all is well.
Thank you.
