Question about programming a Delta EEPROM
Question about programming a Delta EEPROM
OK all you GE Delta experts, here's a question about progromming
an EEPROM for the GE Delta.
Is it absolutely necessary to use the GE suitcase programmer to
do this? The reason I ask is that we have a BP Microsystems
programmer here at work that I use to program PROMS and EEPROMS
for the products that we prototype here at work. Could I read
the current contents of my Delta's EEPROM, make the necessary
changes I want, and then reprogram?? Or is there something
special that the suitcase programmer does that they don't want
us to know about??
Thanks,
Pete

Radio Data Interface (R.D.I.)
For any of you that have a R.D.I. Radio Data Interface P1
They can be converted to a P2 TQ-3330 Rangr/Delta P.C.
programmer by removing the 27C256, U.V. erasing , and
reburning to configure as a programmer.
There are also some jumper changes.

Simple guys the answer is on this page in the Ge/Ericsson section, go to model specific information for GE/comnet ericsson and check out the 'Phoenix radio' web page it has links to the 2212 style DRAM programmer and also free software which makes the suitcase programmer look like a dinosaur. Also check out the link to VO1CPUs web page, Gary marsh, as he did the early dos based software and the original prom programmer for the 2212 series DRAMs which is used in the Deltas, Rangrs and Phoenix series radios.
