Anyone have any insight on this? My VHF has G44 for the flash. I'm going to set it up as a dual radio setup with a lowband radio, but I'm certain the lowband is going to be lower than that (don't have it in hand yet).
How hard is it to update the flash in the lowband model?

Scott,
I have G45 here at home... I can e-mail it to you. Latest flash available
that I know of is OG46410. I probably have that at work......
Or as an alternative, you can read the G44 from your VHF and save
it for use on the LB. M/A-COM does not suggest this route as the
flashcode could become corrupt while being saved to your hard drive.
They always suggest you should use a fresh flashcode from known good origins.
ProGrammer gives you the option everytime you program a radio
to update the flashcode. It shows up at the same place where you
have the choice to upload a special keypad file for the control head.

46 was the last flashcode available for the Orion. 44 is probably fine...usually the difference between flashcodes was to fix some very obscure EDACS problem.
Probably a good idea to have the same flash code in each radio, though.
If you're going to reflash, don't forget to save your feature encryption and tracking data strings to disk first. If you don't and the flash procedure fails, you'll have to realign the whole radio and get a replacement feature encryption string from MA/COM.

Dual radio
It is absolutely essential to use the same flash in BOTH radios or you will have many problems. We have a lot of dual-radio in E911 vehicles.
