Orion Volume

Post by dxon2m »

Hello all,

Is there a way to change the minimum volume on the Orion? I have a setup at home and I found that even at volume setting of 1 it is still louder than I want. I don't know if it is possible or not.

Thank you,
D

one (1) is as low as it will go. If that is still to loud try another speaker such as an 8 or 16 ohm. Another trick used quite often is an L-pad. It is a volume control that taps directly into the speaker line and gives you true analog control of the speaker volume.

Thanks for the tips, I probably will try a different speaker, for some reason it didn't cross my mind

ORION can be programmed to a minimum volume of ZERO. I don't know if that actually means
no sound output but it is programmable to ZERO.

I haven't tried 0 but changing the minimum volume on EDACS3 don't seem to change anything.

A volume of zero means just that, no audio out.

I put in a 100 ohm resistor in line with the speaker, all is well now. The volume knob actually "works"!
