Erisson ORION PROGRAMMING

HI Guys I got a Ericsson ORION UHF403-440. Model D2PMG4 I just got this radio and i have all the stuff to program. how ever! I have a ribbless cable that plugs into rear of radio and controll head cable plugs into it. Should it go into program mone when turned on. well it does not ? now just a few things ill let you know. On controll head it has AEGIS displayed. And i guess the DES BOARD was taken out before i got it. How or what do i need to program this radio?? Would like to make it a CONV radio.. sofwear i have.. ver4-ver 5 ver-18...Be big help to get it running thanks guys . or you can e-mail me. vfr896@hotmail.com thanks Doug
