MP-A's and encryption....?
How does encryption in a MP-A work? I know that encrypted is an add-on board, but is it limited to Aegis, or can a MP-A do DES or DVL, with the proper board?

Wish I had all of my service manuals here at home... Working from memory, the MPA will do Aegis or DES only. Don't think any other formats were ever available.Threeshot223 wrote:is it limited to Aegis, or can a MP-A do DES or DVL, with the proper board?
BTW Threeshot: Are you still looking to move that EDACS S850 head & or 420 meg RANGR??? Please give me a PM as I have an interested party looking to trade an 825 even up for the 850.

Don't know who might have some boards other than New London TechnologyThreeshot223 wrote:Anywhere that sells the MPA encryption modules? and...how does that work in the programming software?

You should join the Yahoo group "GE" and ask around for those.

As for question 2... conventional radio or EDACS?
