F320S-6 PL Problem

Post by Tron »

Have an Icom F320S-6 VHF radio that all of a sudden developed no Tx CTCSS. Rx CTCSS works. Mic audio is OK. Front board interconnect cable has been reseated too.

Checked and reprogrammed radio, but no difference. Has anyone had any experience with this problem on this model?

I have seen this on two radios. If you are lucky you can repair it.
PL tones are generated on the contol board and the lands run along the very bottom of the board. In my cases, there was liquid damaged inside the control head and it ate up a feed through connection from the front to back of the board.
On my schematic (page 11-1), down at the very bottom, right of center, there are 3 lines:
CTDA0,CTDA1, and CTDA2 - if there is PL there and not going into the radio, start looking for green stuff under the board

OK, thanks. Will check those pinouts. No water damage on this one. Have a few others that have turned into junk that way.

Just for FYI,
What bandsplit is the "6" radio?

Thanks!

Have to check...using it between 150 > 160 mc/s
Problem appears to be on the front panel board :-(
