Post by Will »

I need to clone two ICU400 radios from a U16 portable. Does anyone have a U16 in So. Cali ?
Thanks, Will

As I recall, the U-400 is programmable from the faceplate (after removing the mic). Then why would you need to clone the radios?

You remove the mic to put the cloning cable on to clone from the
U-16 or program from the EX-494 programmer. The U-400 is not
programmable on it's own!

U400

So I can get the wider range from 440 to 512 mhz that the radio used to have before it went haywire and I had to clone from a 450 to 486 range radio which restrictricts the frequency range. The U16 has the wider range capabilities.

I don't think the U-400 had a range of 440-512 mhz, it was only
440-485mhz or something similar to that.

Mine used to go the whole range, 440 to 512 mhz, having been cloned from a U16. I think I have located a radio here in the area, thanks for the help.
