Kenwood TK-830 modification for step size Need help TK830

Post by JONSKY »

Have TK-830 but cannot tune to exact frequency, tried everything, I've check the help files on KPG7D software and saids there for 10.0 khz steps it needs modification, tried special tune but no help, I tried to change the IF frequency on the RSS by holding SHIFT + F6 key , RSS will accept the frequency you typed in but radio dont. Just gives a contant tone of death and flashing display. you can program 448.2625 and works well but not 448.2600

That's a real good question. I also tried to select 10 khz steps and never figured it out. Somewhere I have the KPG-7D manual. I'll look through it and see if something pops out at me. Also post this in the commercial radio section. lots of 3o series users there. Peter

thanks for the reply ka7wnf

This makes me think, There should be a possible modification to take 10 KC steps of this TK-830 series as "STATED" on the KPG7D help files.. But right now I programmed it to 448.2625 RX and 443.2625 TX PL 67.0 and I tweaked the reference oscillator block trimmer until it tuned to 448.2600 RX and 443.2600 TX it does work!! you could bring it 25KC up or down but shouldnt be that way :eeek: :eeek: :eeek: ...Any suggestions ??

Looking for mods of a kenwood TK-830 10KC steps

tnx
