kenwood tk-272G

kenwood tk-272G. Is this radio field programmable?

the 272's dont have the DTMF keypad on the front so the unit is not field programable, unless you have a laptop, software, and cables in that particular field. by the way, the 272's will take the same prog as the 270g's so you can have more than 32 channels

Let me check a manual at he office tuesday....later Kenwoods don't use the keypad for programming,they use the channel selector and the PTT button.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you...yes it is field programmable,unless you have the trunking board installed..This needs to be enabled with PC software. and you need to remove D17
To see if yours was enabled hold down the button below the PTT and the front solid circle button and power on the unit hold for 2 seconds then release those 2 buttons.self will be displayed.
