TK-370 - In the HAM Bands ?

Post by Tom/G, N1VVD »

Can the TK-370 be programmed for the 440 HAM Band ?
I notice the specs state 450 to 470MHz.

I was wondering if it was possible, and also if it works OK.

Thanks,
Starion

I can tell you that the newer TK-370G models (128 channels) are capable of operating without degradation on transmit or receive quality at about 12 MHz above and below the listed frequency range.

Actually my 370G is loaded with half of its channels with 440MHz frequencies. The software will allow the data entry in and transferring of this data will take. I never attempted to program a frequency WELL outside the range the radio was capable of handling. I suppose it would BEEP or BLINK at you if this was done rendering the channel incapable of transmit or receive.

Good luck!

Starion,
Thanks for the info.
I received the radio yesterday as part of a trade deal.
There are some 440 repeaters programmed into it now, accept whoever programmed it didn't use the alpha tag feature.

I may end up selling this one...

Thanks again
