I have a problem when trying to read or write to my TK360G...
The program says Check connection, first I thought i might be the cable, so I bought a new, but same problem... I have allso tryed other computers, but same problem...
Is that supposed to run on Windows? If it's DOS then don't use a DOS window within Windows. You need to boot to DOS, like DOS v6.22. Go to http://www.bootdisk.com and d/l the DOS bootdisk image. Then create a bootable floppy, copy over the program to the DOS boot disk, boot from that, then run the program from that. However, if it IS meant to run on Windows then you may need to use XP, 98, etc...
There should be a help section/link of some kind towards the top.....? Under that there may be a "General Help" or "About Kpg56" or something like that that might tell you the version of the s/w you have.
V 1.00 is ancient. If you can read and write to a very early serial number but not a later one, it's probably a software limitation. I don't know what the latest DOS revision is, but it's well over 2.0 (and might even be up to 3.0).
There is also a windows version available which has been out for a couple of years now. I'm pretty sure if you bought the latest revision, it would solve your problems. The Windows version is much easier to deal with IMHO.
KPG56d Ver 3.20 (DOS) was released in 2001 so anything earlier than 3 is ancient. As I recall, there were problems with V2 and I don't recall ever seeing a V1.
