tk-630H on ham bands.

Post by ohgary »

Will a Tk-630H-2 moving up to 6m or down to 10m ham bands? See where the -1 will go down and the -3 will go up. I am stuck in no hams land?

If it will move, how easy is it to do and does anyone have a service manual for the 630H

I have 3, K3"s doing 37.74-54.00,with the receive sens at .5uv at both ends, and much better towards the center,so if a K2 is this wide, you might be in luck, try it and see.

I was unsuccessful at getting a K2 split (36-42 MHz, roughly?) to tune up into the 50 MHz band. You can modify a K2 to a K3, I've done it, but it's expensive! Probably not worth the money as what you'd spend in the conversion would buy a K3 split TK-630 on eBay.

Putting a K3 split on six meters is a simple re-tuning, no parts need to be changed. I've never even seen a K1 split, but I think it could tune down ten meters FM without too much trouble, based on my experiences with the K2s and K3s.

Good luck!
