External anetenna for tk-x90

Post by NodrogCop »

Anyone know if Kenwood or an aftermarket company makes an external antenna adaptor for the tk290/390 series. I may be looking for one in the near future to carry a different banded portable at work.

Thanks for any help.

There are several companies that make a female SMA to female BNC adapter that will fit the TK-290/390 and many other radios that use a male SMA antenna jack.

Tip: Various adapters have various lengths on the outside threads and sometimes the adapter won't thread far enough in for the center pin to make contact.

Thanks Meatball and the other reply via email that I received... I should've checked out some places on the web first.
