690 out of band?

Post by Pj »

I am curious if the 690 can be taken out of band, and what is needed? I would love for the high split to be able to do 33.8 - 54, but I am sure thats not going to fly.

Any experiences?
From the Federal Signal Price Book:
"Warning: Sirens and Speakers may produce LOUD sounds necessary to request the right-of-way."

Really...You think?

soory but that spilt wont work. the radio is 10Mhz wide. to bring it up into 54 mhz you have to modifty the IF board and adjust the PLL circuit. check WA1NVC.com for instructions. not very hard to do.

Even the 630 is not that wideband ! I have a few doing 37-54 with the band edges at .5uv and inbetween at .2uv,power is fairly consistant.
The 690 ain't even gonna come close.
