730G Remote Speaker Help

Post by PowellWye »

Just received my full alpha remote head TK-730G a few days ago and had a few questions regarding using the speaker off the remote head instead of the radio.

1. To use the speaker outputs on back of the head, first are pins 5 & 6 correct?

2. What do I have to do on the radio 15 pin connector to make the above work? (Jump 9 to 12?)

3. Another other changes, internal head or radio jumpers to remove?

4. On the 6 pin head Molex, which pins are 5 & 6 (Looking at the back of the head, upper right most pins?)

Thanks in advance,
Whit

Well I have done all those to no avail. The only catch is that my 6 pin molex connector is not labeled like the 15 pin on the back of the radio, so I am guessing which pins are 5 & 6. I think I read looking at the back of the head, upper right most pins are 5 & 6. Looks like it is time to open up the KCH-4 and do some tracing.

Thanks,
Whit

I can send you a picture of mine. I'm guessing you don't have the numbers on the plug. I'll take a look at it tonight.

Looking at the connector.
