TK-730 PA Function Problem

I"m having some trouble getting the Public Address function to work on my TK730. I know I have the right pins in the right connectors, a proper speaker, and the right programming on the radio. But when I enter PA mode, key the mic, and talk, nothing comes out of the speaker (I've tried a few different speakers including ones I know work, and the OEM Kenwood speaker). The radio makes a faint click when I key/unkey the mic but there is no audio whatsoever through the speaker. Help please?
