TK-730 Dual Head, MDC1200 - Programming Problem

Post by UrOnline »

I have a few TK-730's with Dual Heads and the MDC1200 Option installed.

When trying to read the radio, the radio beeps and shows "Error" on the screen. At times it counts down 7k, 6k, 5k etc. then goes to error.

I tried 2 different computers, both with "real" COM ports and 2 different cables. I have tried all of the radio types in the software. I tried 2 different radios as well.

Can this be because of the MDC option boards?

Any other advise?

Thanks

Sounds like you have a eeprom size error.

Make sure that the model selected in the software exactly matches the radio model you are reading. Options are:

Basic 32 channel
Basic 99 Channel
Basic 32 channel with Alpha
Basic 99 Channel with Alpha
Full 32 channel
Full 160 channel

Also make sure you are running with a slow computer in true DOS mode, no Windows.

I tried every option in the software.

Also, I am using an old Toshiba Libretto 50CT in true DOS mode.
