TK-7180H

Post by KenK »

I have a TK-7180H and a TK-880H. I want to put the both on Ham Frequencies.

I have KPG-49H software that with a RS232 to TTL adapter that I modified by adding a MMJ connector
work fine with the TK-880H I can read and write data to the radio.

I have the KPG-96D software for the TK-7180H. I have selected the TK-7180H in
one of the drop downs but when I try and read the data from the radio I get and error message
stating " Model name and Market code".

I tried the TK-7180H with the KPG-89D software too and got the same error message.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I have never seen that error!
Was/is the radio working as is?
Did it come from someone who possibly screwed up the programming?
You can try starting from scratch, write a program with the model that the radio is supposed to be,then write that to the radio, when prompted tell it to overwrite, then try reading again.

We have run into this with different radios. If you make a file up from scratch you have to make sure that you select the x180 "K" in the model setup box. If it gives that error with reading it, I would just do like in the last post, make one up from scratch, first just fill in the first channel or 2 and then program it in. Just hit ok when any errors come up. Are you sure the radio is a "K" model anyway? There are a few N or I believe E models that are not US compliant.
