TK 730 Ignition Sense

Post by Dave »

Hi,

I have a Kenwood TK730 mobile radio that was originally connected with the main power and ground wires only, and wired hot.

I want to have the radio turn on/off with the ignition key but with the main power wire connected to ingnition I have to manually turn on using the radio power button.

I am pretty sure there is an ignition sense connection on the back of the radio's 15 pin accessory connector but I am not sure what pin it is. What is required to setup this radio to turn on/off with ignition key and not have to hit the power button of the radio?

Thanks for any help, Dave.

Remove top cover from radio (the smaller of the two covers) and cut W101. On the 15 pin connector on the rear, run accessory B+ to pin 3. This should do it.

Thanks Kenwoody,

I'll give it a try.
