Relm-Uniden SMU250KTS scan
Relm-Uniden SMU250KTS scan
I have reprogrammed a Uniden SMU250KTS from trunked to conventional. I have a scan button and Sc on display and the mic clip grounded. The radio does not scan. What should be checked in programming for normal conventional scan?

Redbird,
I do not have a copy of the Uniden programming software so I am going on a vague memory. I believe you have to add channels to the scan list using the software. It might be in one of the options.
If that does not help I can give you the email address of the Uniden product guru Dennis Duffield.
Contact me offline if you need to contact him.
Regards,
Bill

Hello Bill. I got it to work. Under call options X scan memory and under features X menu scan. Ground mic clip, press menu, press ^ to scan sys, press m/exit. Thanks for the hint.

Re: Relm-Uniden SMU250KTS scan
The SMU250KTS has two scan options. It does either group scan or system scan (in either conventional or trunking). If you use the menu key to activate scan it will scroll SYS or GRP. If you set either A, B or C key for scan pressing it once you'll notice the SC icon is on solid. If you press and hold it for 2 seconds the SC icon flashes. System scan scans all the calls that you selected for Scan list. Group scan only scans the calls in the system that you have selected. If you would like a users manual let know.
