Ok. So people have read this but no replies.
Anyone have any insight as to mods and or moding the software to allow freq entry?

Re: vx4000 lb to 6mtrs
Well, I've done some bit-banging with a hex-editor, on a file for VX4000 HighBand;
Normal split on this unit is 148.0000 to 174.0000. If I try to enter freqs outside that range, I get a warning, and the entry defaults to something weird.
But doing some bit banging with a hex-editor on the data file, I've found likely places for the channel names, freq. info, etc. I can make changes to locations, save the file, then read it in with the programmer software; it will then display a new frequency.
Haven't gotten as far as how the bits are arranged, how they're coded, etc. I need good, rested brain cells for this, and just havent' had the opportunity. I did this once to figure out how to put a Motorola R100 UHF down into ham freqs;
I'll let you know how far I get. Would love to make my 4000 do 2Meters, also.

Please post any success. I was disappointed when my 5500 would not go 2 meters.
Re: vx4000 lb to 6mtrs
This is an old post but I too am looking for the hex editing instructions for the 37-50MHz VX4000 to get up to 6 meters.

Any info on the editing? Would be excellent to get these working on 2m and 6m for their respective versions.
