Yeah, it appares to be, and I can't even SSH into the machine. Jon's away message on AIM was yeah, I know, it's down.

So I'm assuming he's fixing it.

well, let us know if there is anything that can be done... I could probably set up a box running as well; having a single database (replicated backup) could help.

must... have.... fix.....

Right now, Jon will continue to run the board.

I'm sure if people wanted to help out with some cash - he'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure off hand what his paypal address is, but hey, I can ask.

As far as I'm concerned - a couple days downtime out of a year isn't bad - and he's been wanting to upgrade that server for a while.

Hopefully he'll be back online tommrow.

Donations for his new server that he wants to buy can be sent to jon@snoopy.net via paypal.

Help him out. He's done a lot for the board - and I don't see why we can't pull together to get him 300-400 to spend towards one.

what's the stats on the server? how loaded is it? what kind of traffic loads does it have?

PHP and MySQL shouldn't be that much of a load... a PPro 200 should more than suffice, but it should have reasonably fast (7200 RPM) hard drives.
