MPA Flashcode files (where to find)

Post by EMS Geek »

Hi,
I have a Hamflashed VHF EDACS M-PA that needs to be turned back into a regular radio.

Where can I find the flashcode files?

Also, is it possible to flash an EDACS into a conventional without messing up the radio too badly. Aside from the military is there anyone that uses VHF trunking?
I remember seeing something regarding codeplug size of 6k for EDACS and 8k for conv. but can't remember what it was for.

Thanks, Eric

I'm not a pro at GE radios but it would seem that you'd mess up the radio flashing it to conventional only. Maybe someone else here with more info can assist you. As for the hamflash files try http://www.radtek.ws/index.php

What controller board do you have in it?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, juggling four different sites looking for info.

This radio has the 081 board in it. (I actually took it apart to confirm)

ge/MaCom will probably give you the flashcode files for free. I'd go over to yahoos GE or ORION groups and look for Mark, KB4CVN and tell him what you want to do. He is always pushing for people to reflash their MPA's from Hamflash back to commercial.
