MDX and "Testmode"

Post by kc2ixe »

I've searched the board - not much on the MDX here...

I have a conventional UHF MDX - about 60% of the time, when I power the radio up, it comes up with the display saying "TESTMODE" - any idea what is going on? When it comes up "normal" (does it's self test, and the comes up, it works great)

My first guess is that your keys are dirty. Have you taken the head apart & tried to clean all of the function keys? Common for them to get crud in there & the radio will act crazy like that......

Maybe not the problem in your case, just a thought.
To force the MDX into testmode:
Press the SYSTEM & mic PTT buttons while powering up the radio.
