Vertex CE-52 software [problem]

Post by freema22 »

Hey guys,
I am having some issues with Vertex and their complete LACK of Tech Support. They won't answer any e-mails I send them.

Anyways, I got my cable, I got the software, and I can not get the radio and the laptop to talk to each other. I use the same port, with the same settings to program my Yaesu, but the Vertex won't do ANYTHING. Does anyone have any ideas? I am using WinXP on a 1.4Ghz Dell Lattitude C. Is there a way to "force" the radio into programming mode? Thanks for the help.

 We had a serious problem with windows XP. We could not program radios with windows based software running XP.

We no longer use XP on any of our programming PC'S or laptops. No problems now.

Depending on what model radio, some are sensitive to the computer speed. The older VX10's, 500 ect, work best with a pentium 1 or 2, or even a 486 machine.

Hope this helps.
