vx-600 vs. vx-900

Post by crazyboy »

First how is the vx-600?

Also what is the difference between the vx-600 and the vx-900 besides the amount of channels. Thanks.

Does the 600 have an alpha numeric screen on it like the 900? Thanks.

You can go to http://www.vertexstandard.com for all this info. The VX600 has no display and only 48 channels. The 900 has display, 512 channels. I almost bought a 900 but instead went with a Kenwood TK-3180. It has a wider band and I like the way its features actually operate better than the Vertex. Also, if I remember right, the s/w for the Kenwood was slightly cheaper. Anyway, if you're set on Vertex I'd go for the VX900 unless you definitely don't need the display. I've gotten so used to having radios with displays that I'm starting to hate using ones without displays.
