Is the a way Kenwood TK-830 Uhf 450-470 out of band.

Post by Rochelle_PkFD41 »

Hello I have a kenwood Tk-830 Uhf 160 Channel Alpha model 450-470 is there a way with the software to trick the radio into recieving 470 to 500 freqencies. The software was tried in SP-Tune and when wriiten to radio a weird tone on came on until the Group up down arrow was pushed numerous times. Then it would scan. Wondering if there are any other tricks out there. Thanks In advance for any Help

That is the VCO unlocking......you might be able to retune to go higher without losing your lowest freq.

I wish it was as easy as the Tk-805 which can be field programmed and placed way out of band into the 500's with no hang up's.[/img]

Tricking the s/w is one thing, having the radio work with OOB freqs is another. Most radios will go about 5MHz-8MHz OOB before the VCO unlocks. The only way to know how far a radio will go is to try.

Hi,
I may be able to help-I have a TK-830-2 which is the 470-490mhz version. I need the 450-470 model. Perhaps a trade?
