VX-10 error message list--

Post by Rjac302069 »

Does anyone have this list--or at least the ERROR_2 definition? What is required to return to operation? Since the programming (CE-14) is a Clone Editor, how do I get a basic plug to modify/edit? I believe the radio has a cleared-out plug.....Tjanks in advance--T/T

Sorry, but I can't help with the error code list. It's also something that I've been looking for, but never found. If you ever find such a list, please post it here. From programming my VX-10s I have found that generally, the error messages have to do with improper settings in the channel memory. I have cleared both ERROR 1 and ERROR 3 messages by simply re-programming the radio using the CE-14 program. I'm not sure what you mean by the CE-14 is a "Clone Editor". The CE-14 program is not needed to perform a clone operation; it simply allows you to enter all of the channel information and enable/disable features in the radio and then transfer (download) those settings into the radio. It can also read (upload) those same settings from the radio. To perform a clone operation (copy channel settings from one radio to another), you simply need to connect the proper cable between the two radios and press some buttons in a certain sequence. The CE-14 is NOT required to clone. According to the Vertex service manual, there is a procedure to reset the radio to factory defaults but I've never been able to get it to work. I have heard from someone else on this board that he was told by a Vertex tech that the manual is wrong and that there is no way to reset the radio (aside from re-programming it with the CE-14 program).

Hope this answers all of your questions.
