Problem with GE MDX PM82SM

Post by brueger »

We have a GE MDX PM82SM in the fire administration offices so that the chief and everyone else can hear the department radio traffic. This radio admits a beep at the beginning of each transmission. I know that there must be a menu setting somewhere to turn this beep off. I don't have the owners manual, nor does my radio shop. Can someone please tell me how to turn this off????

Thanks

Using the Windows ProGrammer, there are settings for "RECEIVE ALERT TONE" plus the "READY TO TALK TONE".
Everytime you receive a call, you will hear a beep with "RECEIVE ALERT TONE" activated. "READY TO TALK TONE" is for TRANSMIT only......

I was hoping that there was something that I could do with the "MNU" function on the face of the radio.

Thanks for your assistance.

Nope... That is a programming level option only.
