Post by N3CHU »

Hi All, Can anyone tell me how to get more than 2.8 khz deveation on 10 meters on the FT-8900? Cant find any mods to do this. Thank you very much. Davie

Yaseu sets them that way for a reason. Their interpitation of the US ARS rules is that bandwidth is limited to 12khz in the HF bands.

Personally with the crowding in many areas on 2 and .7 meters I think the time has come for Amateur radio to adopt 2.5k deviation on those bands as well.

(let's see if the sig shows this time)

jdh makes a very good point.
The issue of channel spacing completely skipped my mind when I posted the link (as I don't run 10M as a norm).

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, and that of Davie.

I had to call Tech support and ask them why and that is what I was told. Every other brand 10M radio I had was set to 5 khz. Why Yaesu is the only one who reads the reg that way is beyond me.
