TK-730 IN 2 METERS?

Post by kd9000 »

I've got a TK-730(G) that I want to use on 2 meters and retain receive capability up to 174 MHz. I've tried to adjust the VCO, but it loses lock just below 149 MHz.

The radio has great sensitivity in the 150 - 174 range but doesn't look like it wants to go lower. Has anyone done this? This seems to be an early version, the s/n is 00200XXX.

If this don't work it may show up on eBay. :(

I guess you are out of luck,if you couldn't get the VCO to lock.
I have 2 730 non "G" radios in the high split,1 will go to 144 the other will only go to 146.
the "G" radio at my shop will not go below 147.
