5100 keyloader the easy way

Post by MEDIC535 »

No BS it works and its easy.

1. get and XTS keyloader cable. (not a Hirose connector, haven't tried the Hirose)

2. remove the rubber boot on the accessory pin side

3. locate pins #2 and #7 **(as I have them marked)**

4. Jumper pins #2 and#7 together, reassemble and your done.

My T3011DX loads the EFJ 5100 (660GS4) and my XTS 3K both work w/ no issues.

Hey Medic,

I have the Hirose (NTN 8613A) one, but it also doubles as a surveillance speaker/mic adapter and it has a TTL chip on it so I didn't want to hack that one up by harvesting pins off other connectors.

I've never seen any of the adapters have all the pogo-pins (or push-pins) fully populated as to what you showed in this picture.

EFJ sells the 585-5000-932 cable that interfaces directly with the KVL3000+ loaders, but it's in the $200 range.

Can you confirm if your accessory-port adapter has a chip on the back side of the PC board or not? What's the P/N of the XTS loader cable you have there?

The hirose will not work, we tried modding one today and thought that we bricked the radio. As far as we know, the line level converter in it will not let it work with the 5100 for keyloading. I can't remember the keyloading cable part number but I got mine for less than $100
(new) from a guy in Batlabs and worked with it from there.
