Programming a VX-3200

Hello,
I just ordered a VX-3200 VHF radio last week. I currently own a Yaesu FT-1500M. They are both programmed through the mic jack. Does anyone know if the pin-out for the Yaesu programming cable is the same as the Vertex VX-3200? I already own the Yaesu cable, and if I don't have to buy a new cable for the VX-3200, I won't. I have e-mailed Vertex twice, and they refuse to answer me. Does anyone know?

 From what I remember, the amature cable is not the same.

But I do know of one person who programmed a VX10 with his Amature radio yaesu cable and it did work.

If you try your cable, only READ the radio. Do not send data to it. If it uploads, it should work.

Thanks for responding. I got my radio last week, and the cables are not the same. The Yaesu is like a telephone, and the Vertex is like an ethernet (I always forget the RJ numbers). If Vertex would have answed my e-mails, I would have ordered a programming cable when I got the radio. Now I have to wait. Oh well.

 You close to Pittsburgh?? I travel up to 1 hour any direction to help out.

Tech support from Vertex?? Our techs solve more problems on their own than Vertex does. They are dependable radios.

We can not keep them in stock. Price and warenty are great.

Unfortunately I am in the Chicago area. I tried an old slow computer today. It didn't work either. I am thinking that I got a bad cable.
