Does anyone know if the VX900 with the MDC1200 option installed has a Pre PTT beep (sidetone)?

Hi, I own one VX-900 VHF and program to 144-148 HAM Band.
Yes, it does but the sound in receive side like big M Saber (not Astro Saber).
You can progrom Lead PTT ID or End PTT ID.
The side tone from your VX900 which you heard is like "BEE", personally I fell not like Astro Saber so COOL.

if you nedd a mdc1200 board, buy the cimerron corp board. it will also allow the radio to decode mdc 1200, do side tone and other functions.

it is a few bucks more than the vertex board, but allows more options on the radio. supposedly will do the same with the vx800.
