The Radio Information Board

Can anyone bring me up to speed on what the 2Tone function does. I suppose the A-B Tone Hhz is supposed to unmute the radio but it does not work or I have programmed it wrong, more likely I do not understand how it is supposed to function. I was hoping to program a channel on my Kenwood in the same fashion as my Minitor IV Pager so I can carry my radio as an alternate to our fire paging system. The goal would be to have the Kenwood audio open up when the paging tones are received. Will this work? Any help is apprecated.

It will work, the ones I've programmed required the signaling squelch be changed from "or' to "and" to get the radio to mute.
