Can someone tell me which one they like better and why? I am looking for some ideas. I like that the screen on the vx900 is on the top but other than that I dont really have a clue. Also interested in which has easier/cheaper programming software/hardware. Thanks.

 I prefer the vx900. You can now ad a mdc 1200 encode and DECODE board to the radio. It will display mdc1200 id's in the display window.

You can also program alias's to go with them. Three year warenty is great also.

Vertex just introduced two new radio's. VX820 and 920. Both are available with the 450-520 split, and the display is now on the front.

You can get either with now softkeys on front, 4 soft keys or full dtmf pad and 4 soft keys.
