Taking a TK-730G Out of Band

Post by KE9GK »

Hello all,

I just got a pull out TK730G from our local FD to play with. I love these radios, and they have served us well for the past 10 or so years, but alas 800Mhz has taken over......anyway I am trying to get these things to go out of band into the amateur 145 ish area....it is currently a 150-174 split radio...I have the KPG7D software for it..and I have read over and over here that Special Tune Mode is needed to make it go out of band.

Here are my questions:

HOW THE HECK DO YOU ACCESS SPECIAL TUNE MODE?
IS IT PART OF THE KPG7D RSS?

I just need someone to hold my hand and guide me in the right direction.

Thanks All

In your software go to model click your model then hit enter click single or dual control head hit enter then what band you have then hit enter. Then it will have 150-174, 136-156, sp tune if you click sp tune that should get you to where you want to be.
